An autumnal walk and a nice surprise!

I live in a beautiful town, on the south coast. The walk into town is along a beautiful river which is a National Trust area, and at the end of the walk is of course is the town and the sea!!!

Saw this sign yesterday which was unusual, I have seen T.V reports on this plant and was surprised it was on our river bank!!!
Don't you just love conkers...they look so lovely!!Autumn is my most favourite month...I love the colours and the smells, the rustle of leaves, the misty morning, the chill in the air and of course the promise of Christmas just around the corner...

Loved all the Sweet Chestnut cases across the floor.............
They are very prickly like cacti!!
The walk opens out to the sea................the Autumn sunshine sparkling across the top of the waves........
I love where I live.................
When I got home I had a lovely surprise to have with my vanilla tea..........
Next door had made me a wonderful coconut cake in return for The Better Half helping set up her computer..............
It was sooooo good it looked it had come from a bakery!!! She used to cook cakes for the W.I. and it was still warm from the oven...........
I settled down for a cup o'tea and a slice o' cake and a nice afternoon read.............
Yum bloomin yum!!!!!
Till next time my friends x
