I feel better

See!..... from the above pic you can see after a full nights sleep I am feeling better....managing to actually get out of the house after a week of being indoors......although its not as good as it sounds...I couldn't be bothered to get me ironing board out and ironed my trousers on the floor!....and I decided to go for what passes as girly ...so after ironing my outfit I then discovered my red heels have a button missing but I couldn't be bothered to iron another outfit...well maybe I will look a lot more like Cinderella than I thought...didn't she have shoe problems! Hoping the fresh air will do me some good ...I have already managed to alienate half my facebook friends by asking the calorific value of ...well...snot! As I have been eating it non stop for a week now...see I have turned you off now too!!!x x x x I am out of here before I loose my blogging friends too! Laterz peepz!

I know everyone in blogland likes to make out they are bloomin peachy perfick all the blinkin time..wafting around their immaculate houses, creating masterpieces with bunnies and butterflies following them around..well I am
blinking well  far from it...

So I try and and hide as much as I can....I even loose the will to muck around and try and make things.....everyone should have a bitch teacup for when they are feeling evil.........(tea cup supplied and sent to me my my very good friend MoreTVicar

Seasonal Bunting.......

As I get older I seem to notice the passing of the seasons in ever increasing detail.......
The flowers, the fruits, the blossoms, the leaves, the quality of the light......the length of the days.....and I want to celebrate every second of every season.....I have always loved The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady...and I have a couple of the books lying around.....but what use is a book on the shelf when you can use it to make wonderful bunting that can be seen EVERY day.....
So I have started with a SPRING bunting...........
I love it....and have hung it in my kitchen, along with the primroses and mini dafs, and a lovely bundle of rhubarb a dear friend brought from her allotment for me........spring has sprung in my kitchen
Of course I will have four lots of this bunting throughout the year.......I need to find a shelf where I can display seasonal bits and produce,,,,and I have lots of pictures left over to make some more bunting so keep tuned x

1940's Brooch Workshop by Hesta

Hello I went along to another wonderful workshop run by Hesta of Bodkin, at Maise Daisy, Mill Street Crafts ,Sidmouth. When I was doing the crochet workshop this lovely brooch caught my eye

It was not long before the brooch took shape.....
It was a lovely meeting ladies who were interested in crafting and the shop is such a wonderful creative space...very inspiring....

Here are the finished brooches that were made that day.....

She loves violets and there are white violets growing wild by me , so I used both white and violet threads to create this bouquet. I would highly recommend these workshops run by Hesta, we have lovely homemade cake on vintage china and she is so friendly and helpful. You can contact her here if you fancy having a go at making your very own brooch http://green-glamour.blogspot.co.uk/

Masie Daisy workshops by Hesta x

The last two days I have really enjoyed myself doing two workshops at Maisy Daisy's , Mill Street Crafts in Sidmouth.

Hesta runs lots of  different workshops, the first one I did was a brooch making course based on a 1940's brooch, As Mothers Day is coming I decided to try and do a bunch of violets....where I live , as well as the common violets there are also wild white ones growing.....so I did both types....

I was so pleased with the results and am sure Mother is going to love them.
Today's course was a beginners crochet course...... I went along to brush up on my basic stitches, as I am teaching myself  to crochet and wanted to check I was doing it right!
I fell in love with this little vase full of crochets hooks.......
There was lots of advice and tips to help you learn,,,,,
And it's such an interesting and creative environment to work in.....
Lots of Hesta's  creations around to inspire......
Needles and hooks.......
Vintage Singer sewing machines for sale , all reconditioned......

Carla the lady who was instructing us brought along her beautiful crocheted blanket...It was stunning......
I was very pleased to learn to crochet in the round properly as I have a crafting idea I want to do...
Hesta even supplies lovely cakes and tea served in vintage china...you can contact Hesta at Green Glamour to find details of her courses, please visit her blog and see all the wonderful things she can teach you .....I found it wonderful to lean new techniques and meet lovely new people....
